Visit five world-renowned national parks in the Canadian Rockies and Montana – contiguous Waterton Lakes National Park and Glacier National Park, comprising the world’s first International Peace Park; Kootenay; and Jasper and Banff national parks, both with stays at inside-the-park Fairmont resorts. 1. Arrive Calgary Tour begins: 6:00 PM at The Fairmont Palliser. A transfer is included upon your arrival from the Calgary Airport to The Fairmont Palliser, centrally located in the heart of downtown Calgary. Join us for a welcome reception and dinner tonight. Meals D 2. Glacier National Park Travel south to Waterton Lakes National Park, then across the border to Montana and Glacier National Park, a haven for some of the world’s endangered species. En route, visit the prehistoric UNESCO World Heritage Site of Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, used continuously by aboriginal peoples of the plains for more than 5,500 years. Stay tonight at a rustic hotel built on the shores of a shimmering alpine lake. This wonderfully scenic drive extends for 142 miles through a vast wilderness of snow-capped peaks, ancient glaciers, mountain lakes and sweeping valleys that is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its outstanding natural beauty and geological value – look for resident wildlife along the way. Join us for a private wine and cheese reception hosted by a local artist in The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, your inside-the-park home for two nights. Meals BLD 6. Explore Jasper National Park Spend the entire day as you wish enjoying an array of optional diversions (many are available at an additional cost). You might want to play a round of golf on the resort’s acclaimed golf course – built in the 1920s by golf architect Stanley Thompson, it hugs the mountains, meanders past glacier-fed lakes and runs through a wildlife corridor where elk and caribou can often be seen.
